Ted Roocroft (1918 - 1991) A patinated bronze sculpture of
“The Resting Bird” on a wooden base, c1960's.
The sculptor Ted Roocroft reared pigs which informed and
influenced his sculpture (many of which were of pigs and carved in
wood). He also sculpted sheep and this rare stylised bird. He
lectured in sculpture at the Manchester College of Art and taught
among others the artist Geoffrey Key. Ted Roocroft has works in
private and public collections in Europe .
