Josef Lorenzl - An Iconic Art Deco Austrian bronze figure
titled "Diana", circa 1930 depicting the stylised Goddess
running with her hounds, with a cold-painted silver lacquer and
enamel finish, mounted on an onyx base.
In Roman mythology Diana was the Goddess of the hunt, nature and the
moon and was able to control wild animals. In Art Deco sculpture she
is usually shown with deer or dogs (mainly Borzoi, as seen here)
This is a beautiful Lorenzl bronze figure, full of movement and
style and photographs really cannot do it justice. Manufacturing
flaw to onyx.
