John Hall Thorpe 1874 – 1947 "Pansies”, a coloured woodblock
print Published in London c1920. The wood block image is in
good condition and it has been recently remounted and framed in a
period oak frame.
John Hall Thorpe was an Australian born artist who moved to London
in the early 20th century where he continued to live and work. His
first one-man show of colour woodcuts was held in London in 1918 and
he was one of the foremost exhibitors at the Colour Woodcut Society,
which was formed in 1920.
