Raymonde Guerbe - An Art Deco terracotta statue, France circa
1925, the naked young woman in a reclining pose, painted pale
and dark green with gold highlights, mounted on a walnut base.
Raymonde Guerbe (Andrée Guerval)
The artist wife (who was also a dancer having performed with
Isadora Duncan around 1920) of Pierre Le Faguays, worked in bronze,
ceramics and was also a painter exhibiting at the Salon d'Automne
from 1923 to '27 and in 1938, '36 and '38. Her works exhibit the
same classical influences as her husband with this sculpture's
features bearing a very strong resemblance to those on the "Fayral"
sculpture titled "Seduction" (so far this is the only example of
this sculpture I have seen).
