Moser Glassworks - a "Hot Pad" cameo glass vase, Bohemia early
20th Century.
The coloured glass in the Art Nouveau style with an overlaid,
engraved and wheel-carved design and centrally applied green
flower-head.
This is a private collection, held in the UK, of early 20th
century and extremely rare Moser "Hot Pad" cameo intaglio cut
marquetry vases with applied flowers. This unusual manufacturing
technique often led to failures because the applied "hot pad"
flower would cool at a different temperature to the main vase
which inevitably led to cracking. This was one of the most unique
and sophisticated processes used by Moser or any other glass maker
of the period.
The collection can be purchased as individual pieces or, with
discount, as a collection of five.
