bronze sculpture edited by LN Paris JL Aurore Onu
was born in Bucharest, Romania and moved to Paris in the 1920s.
There she met the sculptor Marcel André Bouraine and became his
wife in 1925 (at this time they were neighbours of Pierre Le
Faguays)
Onu´s sculptures were cast by Etling and also Les Neveux de J.
Lehmann companies. She exhibited at the Salon of the Société des
Artists Français several times. Her style leaning towards the
classically athletic female being stylistically similar to the
works by Bouraine and Pierre Le Faguays (and his wife Raymonde
Guerbe aka Andrée Guerval). Les Neveux de J. Lehmann
The bronze foundry was run by brothers Jules and Hugo Levy in
Paris. They were very active during the 1920s and 30s producing
statuettes and decorative objects by sculptors such as Chiparus,
Descomps, Gennarelli and Le Faguays.
