Emmanuel Villanis Born in France of Italian parentage. He was
educated in Italy, but worked and exhibited in France in the Salon
de Paris and at the Paris Exposition Universelle. In 1889 he
received an honourable mention. The characteristic and unmistakable
"look" of the eyes of his subjects is due to his technique of deep
cutting and his sculptures can be found in plaster, spelter, marble
and bronze
