Stefan Dakon Goldscheider Art Deco figurine - Vienna Austria,
produced c1931/32, depicting a young woman in stylish
sporting outfit with her two setters.
This is one of the rarer figurines, being unrecorded in
the book "Goldscheider - History of the Company and Catalogue of
Works". The left dog is listed as an individual model, number 6803F.
There is a slight firing flaw to the front of the base and minor
Stefan Dakon 1904-1992.
Alongside Josef Lorenzl, Dakon is probably now one of the best known
of the Art Deco period designers to work for Goldscheider (working
from 1924) sculpting a wide range of stylish figures depicting the
"modern" woman. He worked in bronze, spelter and ceramic and also
designed for the famous firms of Katzhutte, Goebel and Keramos.
