Bruno Zach - Art Deco bronze sculptures, Vienna, Austria
1925, the pair depicting a young man in smoking attire and
evening slippers, holding a cigarette and the young woman in
camisole and trousers, removing her jacket, the bronzes patinated
and displayed on portoro marble bases.
These are documented works by Bruno Zach with signed and
unsigned examples having been sold in Christie's and Bonhams.
Bruno Zach was a Ukrainian born sculptor who worked in
Vienna in the early part of the 20th Century. His works range in
style from Orientalism and Art Nouveau to Art Deco and sporting
subjects but he is most famous for his works depicting women who
can best be described as "sexually liberated"!
