Bruno Zach - An Art Deco bronze figure Jockey, Vienna,
Austria 1925, depicting the lithe young woman dressed for
the race in jodhpurs and knee high boots, the bronze patinated and
mounted on a portoro marble base. This is one of the more uncommon
sculptures by Zach, the master of the "slightly" kinky from the
1920s and 30s.
Bruno Zach was a Ukrainian born sculptor who worked in
Vienna in the early part of the 20th Century. His works range in
style from Orientalism and Art Nouveau to Art Deco and sporting
subjects but he is most famous for his works depicting women who
can best be described as "sexually liberated"!
