Ambrose Heal (1872-1959) For Heal & Son, London, A Rare 347
Bedroom Suite c1902 - in oak with chequer ebony and boxwood
inlay comprising of a triple wardrobe and dressing table.
An important early design by Ambrose Heal, the matching tallboy to
this suite was featured in the "Heal’s 100" exhibition of iconic
Heal’s pieces. This arts & crafts oak suite is in its original
finish, completely untouched giving the wood and the brass handles a
lovely patina and consequently it does have some minor wear
commensurate with age and light use.
Ambrose Heal joined the family firm in 1892 and soon started
designing a range of furniture with an emphasis on simplicity and
quality and became an important figure in the history of British
Design. For more details please contact me.
