An Art Deco French bronze figurine by M Secondo, circa 1925, depicting
a stylish water carrier, with a gold lacquer and patinated finish,
mounted on a stepped marble plinth.
This is a lovely figurine, blending the style of the period with
Greek classicism. I'm afraid I have no information on the sculptor
Secondo but I do know that this particular finish on Art Deco bronze
(and spelter) figurines of the period was referred to in
contemporary sales catalogues as "Décor Moderne".
Some ageing to the finish.
